Age of Conan is a HUGE fucking game.  23 gigs!  i thought Vanguard was big at 17, but AOC is almost twice as big.  Had I not upgraded in March I would have been LAGTASTIC all over the server.  but the quad core processor, 4 gigs of ram and the 8800 gts graphics card keep me running at an average of 85-120 fps. 

so far i've created 4 toons to experiment with - seeing as i can't decide which class i want to keep as my main.

 
i started with an assassin, because i'm a huge DPS fan.   Morghaine is a  badass, dual weilding  daggers.  her sneak attacks can take a mutha' out with one blade swipe to the neck.

then there's Psynn, my Herald of Xotli.  She's a caster/soldier hybrid.  She's dps as well, but she's ranged.  I usually stray from the casting class because they're squishy. so you may deal out some damage at a distance, but you can't take much once the battle hits closer to home (ie, you.)  which is why a Herald is so cool, with their soldier archetype, she can beat down a foo with her two handed long sword at close distance.

Along the line of casters, I had to make a necromacer - because who doesn't like  having undead pets??  Dharmentia has so many poison DOTs plus her pet damage at range, that by the time an NPC makes it to her, they don't need much melee.  my only problem:  pets don't hold agro much at all - they need to.  DONE.

Lastly there's Avaritia, my Bear Shaman - because every team needs a cleric.  They remind me of eq2's druid class.  They wear the heaviest armor for the priest class, which means they can take a lot of damage, or hold their own while soloing.  however, their heals can be rather weak to start, so she's not much of a MH for large groups.  But typically main healing priests have heavy healing, and low damage rates - not too good for soloing, it'll take forever to kill a mob.  and i like to solo.

so far i've clocked a total of 26 hours between the four of them since i started last week.  the opening of the Hyborian doors comes at a shitty time during school - i've got a presentation and a speech due next week, and finals are just around the corner.  i've been neglecting EVERYTHING, except for hygiene and nutrition... and even that's working it's way out.  (i'm a casual player.)
